1. The BSEMS Council conducts operations in compliance with the EMS Act and regulations.

2. Ensures all patients needing emergency care can access an appropriate receiving facility.

3. Ensures all prehospital providers have access to medical command facilities.

4. Ensures all prehospital providers have access to medical direction.

5. Facilitates the availability of communications systems to EMS providers.

6. Ensures all prehospital providers are licensed or recognized under all state requirements.

7. Conducts inspections and other reviews in accordance with EMS statue and regulations.

8. Conducts testing in accordance with EMS Bureau policies and procedures.

9. Distributes EMSOF in accordance with EMS statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures & published funding priorities.

10. Assures that EMS Regional office is operational during normal working hours.

11. Conducts regional EMS Week campaigns and recognition. 

12. Provides regional EMS representation and participation in North Central and North East Regional Terrorism Task Forces for planning, advocacy, and material support.
